In flashbacks, the family joins a cosmic cult that promises salvation on Jupiter. As the past unravels their struggles, their teenage daughter is forced to choose whether to follow her parents into the cult or forge her own path on Earth. Jupiter Remake (2019). "Jupiter" is a beautifully crafted film that manages to immerse us in the inner world of a teenage girl who faces not only the challenges of insecurity, but also the trials of her disabled younger brother and her parents' descent into madness. It is a dizzying landscape and space that borders on sci-fi, even psychological horror. In the discussion after the film, I realized that the first comment was one of empathy for the parents. I had to respond that in the madness and horror of the world, children are tragically and inexplicably neglected. I even noticed that many adults are beyond help. The director insisted that they had to be reintegrated into a “good democratic society” and that they are even unaware of their horrific actions (they have good intentions). Nevertheless, his film feels like a detachment from the vulnerability of adults in extreme difficulty, but an ode to the vulnerability of children. P. S. It won THE YOUNG JURY AWARD at the Sofia Film Festival for the film in international competition.
